THOUGHTS - on being happy!

THOUGHTS - on being happy!

I read: "The real cause of suffering is self-identification with the limited. Sensations resulting from this, however strong, do not cause suffering. Suffering is caused by the mind, bewildered by wrong ideas, addicted to thinking: 'I am this', 'I am that'. Then the mind fears loss and craves gain and suffers when frustrated."

Think! How many times have you said to yourself, this is too good to be true BUT ... it is not going to work, there are so many 'things' against it?

So, what if it does not last? What if it ends after a couple of weeks, months, or years? What lasts forever, anyway? And if anything does, is its experience rendering all other experiences that do not last, not worthwhile?

The reason most would reject the idea of such possibilities is the fear of loss. Attachment is the reason. But it is possible to live without attachment. In fact true living is always beyond attachment. When we truly exist, we are content in the knowledge of loosing, we accept that nothing is forever. Possessions, jobs, relationships. The only thing that leaves a lasting impression is pure love in our hearts.

So, being happy does not mean rejecting life, opportunities, by being unwilling to play, to risk.
Life is a game. Play it. Respect yourself first and then all others but play it.
Unhappiness is not the sensations or feelings, however strong, that arise from living life.
Unhappiness is the result of our expectations. We attach to them, limiting ourselves and our life, yet they almost never happen the way we expect.

This is suffering!
